About The Jersey Shore Council

The Jersey Shore Council of the Boy Scouts of America is located in Egg Harbor Township and Toms River, NJ. Our Scout volunteers, parents, and staff take the popular image of the Boy Scout in America very seriously. To fulfill that image we do our best to teach the leadership skills for teens, active citizenship, personal growth, and practical knowledge necessary to prepare our boys and girls to make ethical choices during their lifetime and achieve their full potential.

The Jersey Shore Council is chartered under the by-laws and rules and regulations of the Boy Scouts of America to provide scouting programs in Ocean County, Atlantic County, southeastern Burlington County, and the City of Ocean City, New Jersey. Our council is incorporated in the State of New Jersey as a non-profit organization directed by an Executive Board who oversee council affairs without salary or reimbursement.

We consider ourselves to be truly fortunate to have the number of quality volunteers that have dedicated their time to our council. And it is gratifying to see, as indicated in our Scout Executive Letter, that they are getting as much out of scouting as they’re putting into it!

The Council employs eight professional, one aide and nine support staff members that guide and support 4,000 adult volunteer leaders in service to 15,000 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Explorers, and Learning for Life program participants.
